Designed for tight spaces and accurate positioning applications, the KF Series turns the corner with a hardened and precision ground hypoid gear.

A hypoid gear is a cross between a spiral (or helical) bevel gear and a worm gear.  The advantages of the hypoid over a bevel gear are higher ratio capability, higher accuracy and more compact design. The advantages over a pure worm gear are that it is more efficient (worm = sliding contact) and higher torsional rigidity.  The hypoid design also offers the ability to have a hollow output.

The specialized hardened and ground hypoid gearing provides smooth accurate torque transmission in reduction ratios of 3-10:1 with less than 3 arc minutes of backlash in a highly compact package.  The output shaft and mounting face dimensions match industry standard metric designs (Apex AF Series) and is sealed to IP65.  The KF Series precision bearing supports and separation gives the unit the ability to support  high radial loads.

The product is available in seven frame sizes (KF06, KF090, KF110, KF140, KF180, KF210 & KF240) and five reduction ratios (3, 4, 5, 7, & 10:1)with output torque up to 1,600 Nm.
